Managing Director - Sandra Baughan

I have a wide range of skills and knowledge, gained through many years' experience working in the field of health and social care. I am a qualified nurse prescriber and a Best Interests Assessor under the Mental Capacity Act 2005. I have managed and commissioned nursing homes, worked as the specialist nurse lead in a team providing GP services to care homes, and been part of a local authority multi-disciplinary team assessing quality standards in care homes in a London borough. In my last role, I was frequently called upon to carry out investigations as part of safeguarding alerts.

I fully understand that managing a care home is very demanding and my aim is to help you to successfully meet the challenges you encounter on a daily basis. At Quic, we don’t just raise questions about quality standards, we give you instant access to helpful resources and guidelines which help you to develop solutions if you identify any signs of sub-optimal care in your organisation.

I know how difficult it is for managers to find time to research current best practice and I aim to ensure that the evidence based information you require is always readily available to you and constantly updated.

I know that the majority of people working in the care industry want to deliver a quality service and I enjoy being part of a team who work hard together to help you to achieve this.

Technical Director - Martin Bennett

I have worked in the IT sector since 1996 when I joined Alcatel Submarine Networks in Greenwich on their graduate training programme. In the last 21 years, I have picked up a wealth of knowledge and I really relish applying it to new projects.

I have been involved in projects both small and large, mainly the latter, as a developer and also at senior management level where I was involved in forming IT policy for the companies that I worked for.

IT security is always at the forefront of my considerations when undertaking any IT project. I have a wealth of experience when it comes to this and am conversant with the ISO27001 framework documents. The Quic system has been designed with this in mind and all aspects of it adhere to the principles set out within.

I have always been enthusiastic about the work I do but I am particularly so about the work I am doing for Quic. Being part of the Quic team is a real opportunity to make a considerable positive impact on the lives of people working in and being cared for within the sector.
